Hi, fished just short of the end, north facing, with lug tipped with squid, on a bought rig which i don't know the name of but has a lead link which slides around a foot in length attached to a swivel with a hook length on it with a single aberdeen hook size 2/0 we fished fro 12 til 4 with high tide at 1pm(ish), the rod i used seemed quite rigid at the tip and didn't show much bend when tightened down to the 5oz breakaway attached.

bait seems ok,rig sounds like a pulley,ok ,place sounds ok.Personally i've found the middleton fishes better up to high tide, then go somewhere else like parton to fis down. When you brought the rig back were both ends dangling, had it come off the clip?

Definately not a pulley rig, just has a clip on a slide on the same length as the hook length(unless i've attached it wrong) where is parton??? i'm only new to the areas so not up to scratch, I have a more sensitive rod I'll try next time out as I might have been missing bites in the strongish wind.
