It is done by a few anglers but I wouldn't try it thats for sure that cliff isn't the most stable in the world and you need special gear to do it too, handlining a fish up a drop like that is no easy feat for a start.

very dodgy place to fish from ,only a few weeks ago a few hundred tons of cliff slipped away taking the fence and part of the road with it .so be very carefull .its much safer walking down and fishing at low water

Fishing the tops isnt that hard ,you just have to be careful especialy at night. Have a good search about where you intend to fish to make sure there are no tripping hazzards . Any good quality heavy duty rod will do, something like a Highlander married up with a slosh 30 should see you right, 30-40lb line straight thru, Red Ice is a good line, its a little bit more supple than most so will take a bit of rubbing (which there is a lot of). Try to fish near a stable structure(fence post) just in case you have to tie your line off, if the fish is massive fish on! dont even think about lifting it up, just get it out of the water and tie your line off, wait until the tide retreats far enough to go down and get the fish. If you have a look about you can get hold of specialy made cliff/pier gaffs (mine came from Oz),they are the bees knees, but even with a gaff it is still a struggle to pull a decent fish all that way back up. Just remember that cliff top fishing ,,,esp there!!! is full of dangers,,go with someone who has some experience and think twice about every move you make Above all else have fun ;D
